I've been tuning into Oasis since the '90s, and for the longest time, I merely "liked" them. Over the past 8-10 years, they've gradually become my favourite band. Perhaps it's linked to my increasing nostalgia for the '90s, the decade of my teenage years.

Blur and Oasis differ significantly. The only shared aspects are their British origin, similar age, and simultaneous rise to fame. Musically, they defy any direct comparison. It's essential to remember that the British tabloids were the ones fueling the so-called "Battle of Britpop," which, in reality, was nothing more than a contrived marketing strategy.

Maybe because I’m American and I love Oasis (go figure with the username) but I never understood how Oasis was considered to be “Britpop” lol... to me it’s just a rock band. Blur seems more like Britpop but at the same time I’m much less familiar with Blur’s music. No hate because Blur does have some good stuff, I’ve just never really understood the comparison haha.
