Perhaps introducing South London’s Fort Romeau, aka Mike Norris, as ‘La Roux’s keyboardist / programmer’ invokes the wrong ideas of poppy electro and angular hair, but his solo productions couldn’t be further from all that. Inspired by the likes of Air, Autechre and classic Chicago House, Norris fuses warm analogue sounds and haunting vocal samples for his debut release, ‘Kingdoms’, on the seductively offbeat 100% Silk label.
