Boys Noize and Laurent Garnier chat to Last.fm on Clapham Common at South West Four festival
So this year was the 10th anniversary of South West Four festival and what a year it was. Consistently fantastic booking has led to the festival holding one of those much sought after reputations that can almost guarantee a sell-out and this was no different, with both days totally doing just that. The weekend wasn't without problems, however - Saturday was so entrenched with rain that navigating the site became a chore, but the sun came out on Sunday to smoothen everything out. And hell, who doesn't like to rave in the rain anyway?
To celebrate our involvement with such a great festival, we headed down to Clapham Common and managed to interview some of the strongest names on the lineup. Boys Noize - one of the leaders of the mid-00s hard electro craze; Laurent Garnier - one of the most influential names in the history of electronic music; Dismantle - one of the UK's most exciting up and coming producers and Jazzie B from Soul II Soul - a musical collective who defined a whole generation since their inception in the 1980s.
