Lana Del Rey - Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind

It's easy to be cynical when Lana Del Rey sings about something as on-brand as flower crowns and stairways to heaven. But "Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind" is actually far more thoughtful than you might expect. Del Rey comes to terms with her personal enjoyment of one of the world's biggest festivals during a politically tumultuous time. She comes to the truth that she's far from the first individual - or generation to dance when the world is on fire.

The National - The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness

With their first new song in nearly four years "The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness" is a rocking return. Just listen to that squiggly guitar solo. While it's callback to their previously feral tendencies of Alligator, it still retains the elegant packaging of Trouble Will Find Me, making it a brilliant reconciliation of past and present sounds.

Miley Cyrus - Malibu

While a stylistic departure from Bangerz-era Miley, "Malibu" is a sunny romp of a song, and one that's organic outgrowth of her maturity as a writer and performer. Lyrically she muses on her relationship with Liam Hemsworth. "I never would've believed you if three years ago you told me I'd be here writing this song," she coos. It's a reflective, intimate and at times bittersweet lament for the way time passes and who we choose to pass it with.

Sheer Mag - Just Can't Get Enough

Over the course of three EPS, Sheer Mag have proven themselves to be one of the most exciting and unpredictable bands around. "Just Can't Get Enough" is the lead single off their upcoming debut full-length and it retains all of the grit, punk and soul of previous releases. If anything's changed, it's that the melodies are even tighter and stickier than ever, like rum and coke for the ears.

Calvin Harris - Rollin (Featuring Future and Khalid)

Calvin Harris continues to dominate 2017. The Scottish DJ and super-producer just released another all-star collaboration that's sure to soundtrack your summer. This time around Future and Khalid sing over slinky basslines, for a sexy, funky jam.

Courtney Barnett - How To Boil An Egg

Turns out Courtney Barnett's newest song isn't all that new. Her contribution to the Split Singles 7" series is a reworking of one of the first songs she ever wrote, but never recorded. Regardless of its evolution, it still remains a left-of-center slice of oddball folk, that's as charming as it is strange.

Chance the Rapper - They Say

A leftover from last year's mixtape Coloring Book and it almost shines as brightly as the that record's best tracks. Complete with upbeat piano, a gospel choir and Kaytranada's production, it's a great victory lap in the wake of Chance's triumphant 2016.

Travis Scott - Green & Purple

Travis Scott recently dropped three new tracks on his Soundcloud page. The standout is "Green & Purple" which boasts a feature from Atlanta rapper-of-the-moment Playboi Carti.
